tucked in the mountains of Nevada, homegrown homeschool pods create community through friendship, learning & play.
a little about us
homegrown began as a dream of what I wanted our days to look like as a family. we started small groups in our backyard & local outdoor spaces with other families eager to veer from traditional learning models.
My heart is to meet families amid their own homeschool rhythms and offer community support around the most important work there is: raising littles!
homegrown pods offered:
preschool +
outdoor pods
small groups (max of 6 kiddos) ages 3-4.5, in vetted homes & outdoor spaces, learning through messy exploration and guided small group time. Meeting 1x a week.
elementary pods
Six to eight podded up elementary kids, ages vary within specific pods. Meeting 1-2x a week. Pods using curriculum support, child led units of study, literature & unstructured group time.
adventure pods
Community of families that meet once a month, adventuring around the greater Reno/Tahoe area. Meeting once a month!
what is a pod?
Pods are based on the Hive Method of bundling kiddos/families into small groups to best meet families' individual needs!
Small but mighty, these pods have a big mission.
Child-centered, faith-rooted, and outdoor learning are the core of Homegrown. We believe in restoring the Wild and free childhood and helping parents feel equipped to do so.
“There has never been a generation when children have so desperately needed their parents’ time, thoughtful creativity and friendship than now.”
